Oracle-Sun acquisition: marriage destined for divorce

Heart burn awaits shareholders and Larry, and disappointment awaits Sun aficionados.
Feel free to call me paranoid or skeptical. why? I really don’t see the point in Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) buying out Sun (NASDAQ: JAVA). It just does not make any straight forward business sense. Of course, as  pundits believe, Oracle  deliberately jumped into the deal to cut off IBM (NYSE: IBM) from taking over Sun, especially for the big enterprise accounts. Open letter to Cisco management: please buyout Sun Microsystems

I stumbled upon an interesting article on NYtimes about Cisco venturing into the server market. Make no mistake, server market is crowded with marginal profits. Here is what Cisco has to say about their new endeavor:

Why should I buy Apple laptops?

I was talking to a fellow CTO of a startup company based in the bay area. Apple occupied most of our discussions. Prior to the economic downturn, when the credit was abundant, CTOs were okay in buying  Apple computers for their developers.  Guess what? CTOs are now questioning the need to buy expensive Apple laptops for their developers.
